How has the Shutdown Affected Your State?

This is an interesting piece of information relating to the effects of the "Government Shutdown" and it's impact on New York's economy. Yikes! How has it affected your state?

When I think of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the state of "Black" folks and our present day affairs my heart weeps. I then begin to wonder, "What would Martin do?"

Our education system is failing, unemployment is rampant, imprisonment of young black males is at a startling high, crime rate and gang infestation is a constant menace to society and in the minds of many all hope is gone or at best faded. What would Martin do?

There is one thing I do know. He wouldn't sit around sulking. He most definitely saw the glass half-full.

With all the dire circumstances cited above, the other side of that coin boost enormous progress. Under his leader ship African-Americans made great strides and when Black folks rise all of America's minorities rise with us. What did Martin do?
